Independent. Lanka Records is an independent, non-commercial educational project. It is not a government body, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for the Parliament of Sri Lanka, the Government, any court or any political party.

Not legal advice. Nothing on this site is legal advice or a legal opinion, and using it does not create a lawyer–client relationship. For any legal matter, and before any deadline, consult a qualified attorney-at-law.

The official text governs. The plain-language summaries are explanations written for this site, not the law. Only the official text has legal force, and where the Sinhala, Tamil and English texts differ, the Sinhala text prevails. The text here follows the Revised Edition 2023, as amended to 31 October 2022; later changes may not be shown.

Records, not opinions. History entries state what a document did and cite it; they do not assess any person, group or event. This site is prepared with care but may contain errors. Check the official source before relying on anything here; no liability is accepted for loss arising from its use.
